Assistant Teacher (Full Time) Lake Stevens Daycare & Preschool - Lake Stevens, WA Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Work somewhere small enough that what you do actually matters. We are a small, family-owned daycare and preschool in Lake Stevens with a team of six staff serving children ages 1-13. Our program is intentionally home-style, structured, and relationship-focused. We believe young children thrive when they have consistent routines, outdoor play, caring adults, and teachers who show up every day ready to make a difference. Because we are a small team, every teacher matters. We are looking for an Assistant Teacher who is dependable, calm, helpful, and genuinely enjoys working with young children and being part of a classroom team. About the Role As an Assistant Teacher, you will help support classroom routines, supervise children during play and activities, assist with transitions, and help create a calm and safe learning environment. You will work closely with the Lead Teacher and other staff to keep the classroom running smoothly throughout the day. Daily responsibilities may include helping children with meals, diapering and potty training, assisting during circle time and activities, supervising outdoor play, cleaning and organizing classroom materials, and helping complete daily reports in Brightwheel. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys staying busy, helping wherever needed, and building positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers. We are willing to train someone with the right attitude, reliability, and willingness to grow. Our Approach to Teaching Our program focuses on play-based learning, emotional regulation, outdoor exploration, and consistent classroom routines. We believe children learn best when teachers are calm, engaged, and respectful. The goal is not just to supervise children but to help them build confidence, independence, and social skills during some of the most important years of development. Qualifications Applicants should have STARS training hours or be willing to complete them and must be able to pass a background check. Strong attendance and punctuality are essential. Benefits Pay ranges from $18-$20 per hour depending on experience. We offer paid sick leave, discounted childcare, and opportunities for raises and advancement.
