Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Support students in shaping their futures in a dynamic Adult Transition Program catering to individuals aged 18-26. As a valued paraprofessional, you'll play a vital role in guiding young adults towards greater independence, both in and out of the classroom. This contract position offers an engaging, varied schedule from 7:45 AM to 2:45/3:00 PM.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Previous experience in a school setting, ideally as a paraprofessional Genuine interest in working with young adults with diverse needs Strong communication and interpersonal skills Dependable, flexible, and collaborative in team environments Ability to adapt to different settings, including classroom, community, and job site environments
Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide direct support to adult students within the classroom, reinforcing learning goals and fostering social skills Accompany and assist students on community outings, ensuring their safety and promoting positive interactions Support students at job sites, helping them build valuable workplace and life skills Collaborate with teaching staff and transition coordinators to execute individualized support plans Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and daily activities Encourage student independence while providing necessary guidance and assistance Foster a respectful, inclusive atmosphere that supports each learner's growth
