We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Assistant Teacher to begin late August, 2026. In this role, you will work with the Lead Teacher to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their development through engaging activities and educational experiences. You will work closely with the children ensuring that each child's individual needs are met while promoting social, emotional, and cognitive growth. Your expertise in classroom management and childhood development will be essential in guiding children with diverse needs. Responsibilities Assists with planning, preparation and implementation of daily lessons and activities, including playground activities. Observe in order to evaluate student progress. Assists in arranging the classroom environment in accordance with program goals and philosophy. Able to anticipate and prevent problems, deal with disruptive children, provide fair but firm discipline, and be enthusiastic and constantly alert. Maintains open communication with students, teachers and other aides, ensuring confidentiality. Understands and complies with all school policies and procedures. Assists in all required record keeping. Assists in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all. Reports any suspected abuse to the supervisor. Attends in-service and staff meetings relevant to the job. Qualifications Must be mature, patient, understanding and articulate, and have energy and physical stamina. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Works in a school environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges and deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts. Able to bend and lift up to 45 lbs. Able to move around the room easily and continuously. Able to get down on the floor to be level with the children during play, naptime, or special activities. Also able to be level with them at the table multiple times including meal or snack time. Able to take children out to the playground and for walks and provide supervision. Works primarily in a traditional climate-controlled classroom environment. Works intermittently in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
