Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a meaningful opportunity as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired, working full-time with students in a supportive academic environment near Marlborough, MA. This contract role is designed for passionate educators who are committed to making a difference in the lives of students with visual impairments. Utilize your expertise to develop and implement specialized instructional strategies that promote learning, independence, and confidence.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Active Massachusetts Visually Impaired Teacher License Demonstrated experience or coursework in education for students with visual impairments Strong knowledge of Braille and adaptive technologies Ability to collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff Excellent organizational and communication skills Flexibility to tailor instructional plans to meet individual student needs
Responsibilities:
Design and deliver individualized instruction to students with visual impairments in accordance with IEPs Provide Braille instruction and orientation/mobility training as needed Adapt curriculum materials and create accessible classroom resources Assess student progress and modify approaches based on ongoing evaluation Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic student support Offer guidance and support for families and general education teachers Maintain clear documentation and participate in appropriate professional development
