This rewarding opportunity allows you to use your specialized skills to empower students with visual impairments, fostering independence and academic achievement.
Essential Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience designing and implementing individualized educational programs for visually impaired students Strong ability to adapt and modify curriculum materials to accommodate diverse needs Familiarity with assistive technology and Braille instruction Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to work effectively with students, families, and school staff
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver tailored instruction to students with visual impairments based on their unique learning profiles Conduct functional vision assessments and contribute to comprehensive IEP development and reviews Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to ensure accessible learning environments Provide training and support on Braille, tactile graphics, and assistive technology Monitor student progress, documenting growth, and adjusting instructional strategies as needed Advocate for appropriate accommodations and services to promote full participation in the educational setting
