Key Qualifications:
State certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience providing direct instruction to students with visual impairments across various age groups Strong skills in employing assistive technology and adaptive materials for visually impaired students Background in preparing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments based on their unique learning needs Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service professionals to support curriculum access and participation Provide recommendations and training for adaptive equipment and technology Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for student goals, progress, and outcomes Advocate for student needs and assist in transitioning students to greater independence within the school and community As a valued educator in this contract position, you will work in a dynamic environment that encourages creative teaching approaches, values your specialized skill set, and provides opportunities to make a lasting difference in students' lives.
