Job Description
Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference as a passionate educator supporting students with visual impairments in a dynamic school setting near Creswell, OR. This full-time, contract opportunity provides the chance to utilize your expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, traveling to multiple district locations during the upcoming academic year. Assignment specifics and schedule details will be finalized soon, with the expected timeframe running from mid/late August through late May or early June, following the standard new school year calendar.
Key Qualifications:
Valid state teaching certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience supporting K-12 students with visual impairments in educational settings Strong knowledge of adaptive technology, Braille, and specialized instructional strategies Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including educators, families, and support staff Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Willingness and ability to travel between school sites within the district (no hybrid or remote options)Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized instruction plans tailored to students' unique vision needs Provide direct teaching in Braille, orientation and mobility skills, and assistive technology Consult with classroom teachers and staff to adapt curriculum and materials for accessibility Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to IEP development Serve as an educational advocate and resource for families, teachers, and related service providers Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices Enjoy the rewarding experience of fostering independence and academic growth for students with visual impairments.
