Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract An outstanding opportunity awaits for an experienced educator with a passion for supporting students who are visually impaired. This contract role specializes in delivering individualized instruction and services as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a vibrant school community. The position is full time (up to 30 hours per week) and extends from July 31, 2026, through June 3, 2027, providing a meaningful way to contribute to students' academic journeys.
Key Qualifications:
Current, active Georgia TVI licensure/certification Valid GA Educator Certificate Demonstrated expertise in school-based services for learners with visual impairments Capable of in-person service delivery Experience with Braille and Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) strongly preferred Familiarity with IEP processes, progress monitoring, and Medicaid documentation is a plus Background working in ASD or severe needs classrooms is advantageous Reliable transportation for consistent on-site presence
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct TVI services tailored to student needs Participate actively in IEP meetings, collaborating with educators and service teams Support and adapt lessons involving Braille and ECC content Track and report student progress, ensuring documentation is timely and accurate Participate in Medicaid billing activities, where needed Stay abreast of the latest instructional techniques and legal requirements for visually impaired students This is a chance to make a meaningful impact in a supportive environment, working within a dedicated educational team.
