Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Empower students in an impactful, supportive environment as a teacher for the visually impaired. This contract role is perfect for educators passionate about accessible learning and dedicated to providing exceptional instruction to students with visual impairments. The opportunity covers the full academic year, with dates tentatively set from early September 2026 through early June 2027. As a valued member of a collaborative school team, you'll deliver services in a welcoming, onsite setting.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid certification or licensure in teaching students with visual impairments (TVI) Experience working in K-12 educational settings preferred Deep understanding of accessible curriculum, assistive technology, and Braille Strong communication and advocacy skills to collaborate with staff, families, and related service providers Ability to adapt general education curriculum to meet individual student needs
Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultative instruction support for students with visual impairments Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's strengths and needs Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and related service providers to promote student success and equitable access Utilize technology and adaptive materials to foster independence Maintain thorough, organized documentation and progress monitoring for each student Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives as necessary
