Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Step into a crucial role supporting students' educational journeys as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. This contract opportunity is ideal for a skilled professional experienced in working with elementary-aged children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This assignment requires a single evaluation at an elementary school in the Fairport, NY area, focusing on one student.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification/license as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Experience working within an elementary school environment In-depth understanding of instructional accommodations and assistive technologies for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students Ability to conduct comprehensive educational assessments Strong communication and collaboration skills with families, staff, and multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
Complete an in-depth educational evaluation for one elementary school student Gather and interpret audiological and academic assessment data Provide recommendations for appropriate supports, modifications, and services based on evaluation findings Collaborate with school staff and families to ensure individualized student needs are met Document and report results of the evaluation clearly and professionally
