Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Step into a valuable role working directly with students in need of specialized instruction as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing. This position offers the chance to positively impact students' educational journeys, focusing on individualized support and IEP implementation. The assignment is part-time for the school year, beginning in August and concluding in May, allowing for a balanced schedule that still provides meaningful engagement with K-12 learners. Ideal candidates bring experience working with deaf or hard-of-hearing students and hold current DHH Educator certification. You'll play an essential role in empowering students to reach their academic and personal goals through consistent, dedicated instruction and support.
Qualifications:
Current certification as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) Educator is required Prior experience working with deaf/hard-of-hearing students, ideally across K-12 Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and the ability to provide targeted instruction Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with students, teachers, and support staff Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 instruction and support to K-12 students per their IEP goals Work onsite 1-1.5 hours per day, Tuesday through Friday Develop individualized teaching strategies to meet each student's specific needs Collaborate with educational teams and families to track progress and adjust plans as needed Participate in IEP meetings and complete required documentation This contract role provides flexibility with part-time hours, making it an excellent opportunity for professionals seeking consistent, rewarding work within the school setting.
