Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding full-time opportunity as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired, where your expertise will make a lasting difference in the lives of students with visual impairments. This pivotal contract role offers the chance to support and inspire learners, helping them develop their independence and achieve academic success in a supportive educational environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Massachusetts license as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired Experience working with children or adolescents who have visual impairments preferred Proficient in creating and adapting instructional materials for visually impaired learners Strong communication skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Commitment to fostering an inclusive, accessible school environmentKey Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized instructional plans tailored to each student's needs Provide direct teaching and support on core curriculum and specialized literacy, including braille, assistive technology, and orientation/mobility skills Collaborate with general and special education staff to adapt lesson materials and instructional strategies Assess student performance and participate in IEP meetings Advocate for accessibility and necessary accommodations, working closely with families to ensure comprehensive support This role offers the stability of a W-2 contract, giving you peace of mind as you focus on your students.
