Team Leader Req #269 Paris, IL 61944, USA Apply Share Job Description Posted Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 1:00 AM | Expires Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 12:59 AM Grain & Protein Technologies is seeking a talented, passionate, and highly motivated professional to join our Paris, IL operation as a Team Leader - Fabrication . The ideal candidate will assist the Production Supervisor by executing daily production plans in the Fabrication department. Job Responsibilities Assist and support the Production Supervisor in meeting production and delivery schedules, budgets and targets. Lead shop floor employees ensuring daily production goals are met. Promote a work environment of continuous improvement through proactive process improvement programs as assigned by the Production Supervisor. Promote a team environment through effective communication and delegation. Act as a coach to shop floor employees. Maintain Skill Training Matrixes and train new hires job transfers. Participating Safety investigation and 5 Why investigations. Follow standard work practices and procedures. Maintain and report out on department KPI's (5s, Safety, Quality, production numbers) during daily Gemba walks. Assist with departmental communications (processes, toolbox talks, shift changeover reports, etc). Conduct cycle counting, ensuring inventory accuracy. Operate forklift as required. Hang parts on paint line. Paint parts in powder coating booth as needed. Utilize computer. Support all aspects of Safety and Quality Management systems. Backfill absent employees as needed. Other responsibilities as assigned. Experience and Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Additional education a plus. Strong leadership abilities and excellent communication skills. 2+ years of progressive responsibility or related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Solid grasp of manufacturing concepts, methods, and manufacturing techniques to include but not limited to: Assembly, welding, machining, painting, and other related manufacturing methods. Prior experience in lean, flow-through manufacturing a plus. Knowledge in use of SAP or other related ERP application software preferred. Must be computer literate; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus, and ERP Systems. Basic understanding of production planning and production control functions. Exceptional influencing and communication skills with ability to communicate at all management levels. Demonstrated ability to think conceptually with a real commitment to change and continuous improvement. Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to develop improved manufacturing strategies that will support Grain & Protein Technologies business objectives on a departmental basis. Benefits and Compensation The expected hourly Pay rate for this role will be $27.38 to $32.53 based on experience. Up to 5% gainshare potential. Your Workplace You will work on site at our Paris IL location. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works with and near large machinery and equipment daily. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee is exposed to a variety of extreme conditions including temperatures ranging from 40°F to 105°F. The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, t he employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or craw and frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands or arms. The employee must be able to stand for up to twelve hours per day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
