What You'll Do Position Summary:
Under moderate supervision, this position is responsible for inspecting, shipping, and receiving all stock and non-stock supplies, equipment, and materials to support hospital operations. The Distribution Technician ensures accurate documentation, labeling, and distribution of all items in accordance with Supply Chain policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include the daily distribution and replenishment of inventory and specialorder supplies, restocking all PAR level areas, and filling floor requisitions. The technician performs daily PAR counts, pulls, stocks storeroom. Weekly Cycle counts and Physical Inventories. Rotates stock to ensure no expired items are stored. Additional duties include picking orders, answering phone calls, and assisting in resolving supply-related concerns. This position works alongside the Supply Chain Team Lead and may provide coverage during PTO or absences. Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times. May have access to patient information and/or hospital funds; however, this position does not provide direct patient care. Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:
One-year warehouse/receiving experience required.
Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge of Healthcare Supply Chain Operations, inventory and distribution practices.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and safety requirements.
  • Must be able to read and follow directions.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and prioritize work.
  • Capable of doing basic math skills, i.e. adds and subtracts.
  • Basic computer skills required. Demonstrates strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply new skills in a work setting. Job Specific Essential Functions
  • Receives stock and non-stock items in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring all shipments are inspected for accuracy, condition, and completeness.
  • Reconciles invoices and packing slips with error-free documentation, following established departmental procedures.
  • Weekly Cycle counts and Physical Inventories to ensure accurate inventory records and identify variances.
  • Performs inventory-related functions accurately and efficiently, including counting, stocking, and maintaining appropriate PAR levels to support daily operations. Practices First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory management daily to ensure supplies remain within expiration dates.
  • Processes equipment deliveries while adhering to all safety and special handling procedures.
  • Prepares returns, shipments, and repair requests in accordance with Supply Chain policies and established documentation standards.
  • Communicates effectively with buyers and other team members to resolve discrepancies, report backorders, and address supply-related issues.
  • Maintains clean, organized, and professional work areas, ensuring a safe and efficient environment in all Supply Chain locations.
  • Assists with order picking, phone inquiries, and supply requests, providing responsive and customer-focused service to hospital departments.
  • Supports the Supply Chain Team Lead by providing coverage during scheduled PTO or absences
  • Participates and contributes in department goals as related to patient experience, employee experience, growth and innovation, quality and safety, and profitability.
  • Maintains relevant logs, databases and files to ensure proper adherence to regulatory agencies including but not limited to ODH and Joint Commission.
  • Analyze weekly and monthly Adena system analytics reports to identify trends and implement improvements that enhance patient care quality.
  • Assist Team Lead with any recalls needed.
  • Assist with Linen Par counting and restocking if applicable.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to ensure continuous and reliable supply support for hospital operations.
