We are seeking a Technical Manufacturing Supervisor to lead immunoassay manufacturing across our Components, Conjugation, and Testing functions. This role has responsibility for ELISA, Lateral Flow Device (LFD), conjugates, buffers, and particle production, ensuring consistent quality, efficient workflows, and a safe, collaborative working environment. This is a hands-on leadership role that plays a critical part in driving operational excellence, team development, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. What You'll Be Doing Operational Excellence & Execution Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Production Scientists and Technicians, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Run daily team stand-ups using visual management boards to drive communication and performance. Supervise day-to-day manufacturing operations across ELISA reagents, LFDs, and production testing, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards. Coordinate detailed production schedules, including hour-by-hour execution, in partnership with schedulers, managers, and peer supervisors. Ensure high-quality materials are available at point of use and maintain inventory through Kanban and supermarket systems. Review and approve production batch records, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. Oversee routine and preventative equipment maintenance. Collaborate closely with R D, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams on product transfers, pilot builds, scale-up activities, and documentation reviews. Support effective training across products, processes, and safety protocols. Technical & Process Leadership Provide hands-on technical guidance on reagent preparation, conjugation processes, gold nanoparticle synthesis, gold conjugation, and nitrocellulose preparation and spraying. Perform and review functional testing of in-process and finished products, analysing and trending performance data. Confidently operate laboratory equipment such as pH meters, balances, and spectrophotometers. Identify, document, and investigate non-conformances (NCRs), implementing countermeasures to prevent recurrence. Use the IFS ERP system for job creation, material issuance, labour tracking, inventory transactions, and job completion. Draft, review, and maintain SOPs and standard work documentation. Lead continuous improvement initiatives using EBOS (Ensign-Bickford Operating System) and Lean manufacturing principles. Champion strong documentation and process discipline, ensuring all activities are appropriately recorded. Facilitate daily continuous improvement and Kaizen activities. Leadership & Talent Development Lead in line with company values and Operations team cultural expectations. Promote a culture of safety, quality, and delivery excellence. Build trust through authentic, empathetic leadership and open communication. Develop and mentor team members through coaching, feedback, and career development planning. Drive engagement, retention, and high performance, addressing performance issues when required. Recruit, develop, and retain top operational talent. Continue your own development and that of your team through EBOS tools and structured training. Provide hands-on production support when needed to meet seasonal demand fluctuations. Maintain strong accountability to performance metrics while actively improving employee engagement. What We're Looking For Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline (advanced degree preferred). Demonstrable experience in manufacturing or a technical environment, with experience in a leadership or supervisory role. Strong background in immunoassay manufacturing, reagent conjugation, and analytical testing. Proven ability to lead teams and drive operational improvement. Experience working with ERP systems, quality management systems, and performance data. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience is desirable. Physical Requirements Ability to work across laboratory and office environments. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
