Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 2 years of experience in program management. Experience with working with optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer 2 and 3 routers, and data services. Experience in systematic troubleshooting in IP and Optical environments.Preferred qualifications:
2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects. Knowledge of optical communications networking. Experience with device repair, understanding of network topologies and global internet technologies Experience in a NOC/TAC environment handling large scale IP networks. As a Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for Google's fiber optic network infrastructure. This role is tohelp drive key outcomes inside of an operations team that supports both IP and Optical Infrastructure. As the network grows and evolves at unprecedented scale the overall alignment of projects are key. This role is a strategic part of the team partnering with managers and teams across the globe to drive process improvements and automation to ensure the team meets customer and business expectations. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$198,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Coordinate day to day operations for the apps engineering teams including facilitating standups and iteration planning session and coordinating activities like releases and productions bugs that span different sections of the team. Monitor the quality of the code base and establish policies and guidelines to improve its readability, extensibility and testability. Work with test engineers and QA people to improve the quality of our products to detect areas of trouble and plan for extra testing, refactorings or reimplementation.
