Job Description

Technical Writer II The Technical Writer II provides comprehensive writing support for the task order for US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM); Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Center; Engineering and Systems Integration (ESI) Directorate. Responsibilities
  • Experienced in collecting and organizing information for the preparation of user manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports.
  • Edit functional descriptions, system specifications, user manuals, special reports, or any other customer deliverables and documents.
  • Conduct technical editing, technical editor review, and development of deliverables, briefings, reports, and other documents, to include classified briefings, reports, and other documents that will require working familiarity with relevant SCGs.
  • Assist in the professional preparation of project plans, schedules, demonstrations, requirements, test plans, technical manuals, training curricula, briefings, reports, and other documents.
  • Facilitate the submission of documents through Government processes and procedures to gain release permission to various communities (dependent on classification level and audience).
  • Edit briefings and memos.
  • Edit Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to help standardize processes and educate new members on policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and update existing templates and create new templates as required.
  • Post approved reports to portals to allow information sharing with approved agencies and partner nations with appropriate tagging that enables automation and searching.
  • Maintain a library of approved documents, tagging with relevant information, and their release approval documentation.
  • Maintain product metrics.
  • Maintain a product status tracker.
  • Coordinate with product/report authors to tag each product/report with appropriate tags, keywords, and/or metadata.
  • Create professional graphics to enhance the quality of briefings, reports, presentations, and signage.
  • Prepare briefings, papers, memos or documents based on existing content.
  • Edit products for formatting and compliance with applicable C5ISR, DEVCOM, AFC, and DoW formats and standards.
  • Implement methods to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of product development.
Qualifications Required:
  • Minimum 3 years experience and/or AS/AA or 2yr Tech School; or HS/GED w/ 10 years or military experience E4 and up
  • Direct experience of applicable military standards, specifications, and test practices is required.
  • Demonstrate the ability to conceptualize, format, structure, write, edit, and finalize technical manuals, orders, specifications, modification work orders, and test plans, procedures, and results.
  • Direct experience in writing, editing, and managing technical documentation and operator/maintenance manuals for military systems and equipment.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of products and Adobe.
TS/SCI Clearance Salary Range:
$37.21hr-$39.00hr The above salary range represents a general guideline. Integral Federal considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and/or discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay.
