To provide technical assistance in the installation of software, network equipment, and desktop computers & tablets, troubleshooting, technical support,
REPORTS TO:
Director of Technology
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Associate's degree/ Technical certificate in information technology, computer science, or closely related field. Proven experience in IT support. Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows PC environments. Hands-on experience replacing computer components. Hands-on experience with data cabling (CAT5/6, terminations, testing). The ability to lift 30 pounds, comfortable working from ladders occasionally. Knowledge of basic networking (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, switches) and common school software (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office). Excellent communication skills - ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users and write documentation. Patience and the ability to thrive in a busy school setting. Relevant certifications - CompTIA A+ or equivalent experience.
JOB DUTIES
Deliver frontline technical support to teachers and staff, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues. Troubleshoot and repair devices running Windows and Chrome O/S. Perform basic data cabling tasks, such as installing and testing network cables. Install and configure computers, printers, interactive flat panel displays, and AV equipment. Conduct routine maintenance, asset inventory, and documentation of issues. Collaborate with the IT team on projects and new technology rollouts. Attend approved training sessions, staff development activities, and required meetings. Employees are expected to use personal vehicle for travel between schools and deliver equipment. Mileage reimbursement will apply at the state rate. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Position works 230 days.
