Our actuarial exam program further supports your journey by providing paid study time, covering exam fees and materials and rewarding your progress as you earn exams and credentials. We don't expect you to arrive as an expert. Instead, we'll provide the experiences, coaching, and exposure that help you grow quickly. In your first year, you might: Build and test actuarial models supporting financial reporting, loss reserving or pricing engagements. Contribute to rate-setting, product, reinsurance or capital analyses for life and property/casualty insurers. Help reimagine how actuarial work is performed through AI, automation and other emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to work smarter and bring innovative solutions to clients. Your key responsibilities You'll support client engagement teams across the life/health and property/casualty industries on a diverse range of actuarial and consulting work, including financial modeling, loss reserving, financial and regulatory reporting, rate setting and pricing, product strategy and innovation, transformation, reinsurance, capital management, litigation support, customer analytics and other consulting projects, with the chance to go deep in the areas that fit your strengths. As your skills grow, so will your responsibility and the range of clients and problems you support. Skills and attributes for success To qualify for the role, you must: Be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in actuarial science, finance, mathematics or a related field, supported by a strong academic record. Be making progress toward passing your actuarial exams, with candidates who have passed at least 2 exams especially encouraged to apply. Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Know how to effectively leverage firm approved AI tools to enhance problem-solving and productivity and have the ability to exercise sound judgment around AI-related risks and considerations. Be able to assess and articulate the evolving risks that AI presents to clients across multiple risk domains. Understand that the expectation for this role is in person teaming, at a client site or in an EY office, on average 3 days a week depending on the needs of the engagement, project or practice area. Have access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver's license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations. Be able and willing to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs. Be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship, now and in the future.

Ideally you:

Have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher (on a 4.0 scale). Are familiar with programming or data tools (e.g., Excel VBA, R, Python). Have had exposure to AI or automation through coursework, projects or prior work. Have prior internship or practical experience in the actuarial field. Have an adaptable and curios mindset: you're comfortable with change, eager to learn new topics and excited to explore new frontiers.

The base salary for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $88,000

Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
