These services include providing benefits through innovative life and health insurance plans, financial services, and customized insurance products for niche markets, https://www.fslins.com/About-Us Position Summary This role is responsible for supporting national rate filing and certification requirements associated with FSL's group and individual vision insurance products. This includes coordinating the development and modification of rates for vision as well as other types of supplemental health insurance products with external actuarial firms and marketing partners, as well as internal actuarial, underwriting, administration and marketing staff. The role requires significant interaction with internal compliance staff and State Departments of Insurance regarding rate compliance for FSL's group supplemental health insurance products. This role will have an in office work schedule, but must currently reside within the Kansas City, MO metropolitan area. Responsibilities Monitor, interpret, document and communicate rate compliance requirements for FSL's vision products and other supplemental health products Coordinate FSL's supplemental health insurance pricing and product evaluation activities with actuarial consultants Draft generic and state specific actuarial memorandums and rate filing documents for finalization by actuarial consultants Maintain product pricing documentation and refine documentation processes Facilitate the preparation of state rate filing documents and development of state objection letter responses in consultation with actuarial consultants and FSL's form/rate filing staff Qualifications Proficient use of Microsoft Office software, including Word; Expert level for Excel; Microsoft Access experience helpful Excellent organization, math, critical thinking, and problem solving Solid written and verbal communication skills with strong client relationship orientation Self-motivated/self-starter Detailed, accurate, and efficient Ability to interact successfully at all organizational levels with external clients and internal departments Ability to see projects in totality and ensure team-oriented success in a complete and timely manner Requisites Bachelor's Degree Successful completion of actuarial science and mathematics coursework preferred Experience researching and meeting state rate filing regulations 3-5 years of experience managing supplemental health insurance rate filings Experience working with vision insurance rate compliance a plus Working knowledge of supplemental health product compliance, pricing, design, and implementation concerns We offer comprehensive benefits to full time employees including company paid medical, STD, LTD and life insurance; plus voluntary dental, vision, Life/AD&D insurance, 401(k) with company-matching, generous paid time off and much more.
