QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
At least 3 years of relevant actuarial experience Completion of at least five preliminary actuarial exams or completion of four preliminary actuarial exams and all modules of the Fundamentals of Actuarial Practice course (alternate requirement is completion of at least three preliminary actuarial exams and at least six years of relevant actuarial experience) College degree with an emphasis in math, statistics, finance or similar areas or other majors in conjunction with credit for preliminary actuarial exams (VEE credit) Good PC skills, including use of spreadsheets and databases and aptitude for insurance and actuarial software Basic knowledge of insurance concepts Good communication skills
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates, prepares and performs actuarial analysis to calculate premiums, reserves and/or nonforfeiture values for new and existing plans of insurance Develops, enhances and maintains actuarial databases, compiles, categorizes, documents and validates data for analysis and related reports Effectively uses actuarial software to support decision analysis for moderately complex actuarial issues including a thorough familiarity with actuarial software and models used to support work assignments, accurately maintaining model inputs and reviewing reasonableness of results Assists in preparation of actuarial communications including financial reporting, profit or risk analysis, response to regulators or information for management or agents Provides clarification and consultation on actuarial models and risk issues Assists in the implementation of new actuarial systems Kansas City Life Insurance Company is committed to equal employment opportunities for all individuals regardless of race, religion, color, sex, age, national origin, disability, or genetic information.
