Job Description

Our client is seeking an Assistant Actuary, Annuity Statutory / PBR Valuation to join their Corporate Actuarial team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a newly established VM-22 Principle-Based Reserving (PBR) function, supporting the valuation of a growing annuity portfolio while helping build valuation processes, infrastructure, and governance from the ground up. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quarterly statutory and tax valuations for non-variable annuity products, including
VM-22 PBR
valuations.
  • Analyze reserve movements and explain key drivers of financial results.
  • Support VM-22 implementation, valuation model testing, and production readiness.
  • Contribute to assumption development and testing, including mortality, lapses, withdrawals, expenses, and crediting strategies.
  • Maintain valuation data governance, controls, and audit documentation.
  • Assist with VM-31 reporting, regulatory filings, audits, and examination requests.
  • Develop valuation tools, reporting enhancements, and management analytics.
  • Partner with Finance, Risk, Pricing, IT, Capital Management, and external consultants on strategic initiatives. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  • ASA required; FSA progression strongly preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of annuity valuation experience.
  • Experience with VM-22 and/or VM-21 statutory valuation required.
  • Strong knowledge of PBR concepts, stochastic modeling, and reserve analysis.
  • Prophet experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in SQL required; Snowflake and Power BI are a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and technical documentation skills.
