Job Description

We are partnered with a top‑tier, rapidly growing insurance company that combines strong leadership with the agility of a smaller, close‑knit environment. In this role, you'll work closely with senior leaders and have the opportunity to make an immediate impact. They are seeking an Associate Actuary to join their Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team. This is a highly technical position, ideal for candidates with a strong analytical and technical foundation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and hit the ground running from day one. The company is headquartered in the vibrant southern city of Durham, NC, known for its great food scene, culture, and outdoor activities. The role is hybrid, with three days per week in the office, offering flexibility while maintaining strong team collaboration. Below is some additional information for your review: What You Will Do Develop and enhance the risk management framework Support financial projections and stress testing Analyze scenario impacts on financial performance Monitor key risk, liquidity, and collateral metrics Improve risk appetite, stress testing, and ERM reporting Collaborate across actuarial, finance, asset, and M&A teams Prepare ORSA and related regulatory deliverables What We Require Actuarial designation with 5+ years of experience Strong analytical and technical skills (Python/R preferred) Experience with AXIS or similar modeling platforms Solid understanding of ERM and risk methodologies Annuity, asset, or reinsurance experience preferred Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
