Job Description

Applicants for this role have the flexibility to work remote from home anywhere in the Continental United States. To be considered for this role, candidates must have an ASA or FSA designation, a bachelor's degree, and at least two years of actuarial experience.
Position Purpose:
Conduct analysis, pricing and risk assessment to estimate financial outcomes. Manage health plan specific actuarial needs and produce actuarial reports to aid in developing corporate strategy. The associate will gain hands-on experience developing Medicaid forecasts across multiple markets, build strong technical skills, and develop direct exposure to senior leadership and key stakeholders. In this Associate Actuary role, you will: Serve as the main point of contact for actuarial related forecasting activities for assigned health plan(s) Manage at least 1 health plan Apply knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculate financial outcomes Developing probability tables based on analysis of statistical data and other pertinent information Research and analyze the impact from legislative changes Assess cash reserves and liabilities enable payment of future benefits Analyze various data reports, identify trends and gaps and recommend action Determine the equitable basis for distributing money for insurance benefits Create and update actuarial reports Additional responsibilities will include: Developing tools and reporting that improve insight into results. Collaborate cross‑functionally by sharing knowledge, supporting joint initiatives, and building strong working relationships.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience. 2+ years of actuarial experience.
License/Certification:
Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) (or equivalent international certification) Preferred Qualifications / skills: Advanced Excel skills
  • ability to work with large datasets, build and audit models, and perform efficient data analysis Medicaid / forecasting experience
  • familiarity with healthcare cost drivers, PMPM trends, and financial projection processes Strong communication skills
  • able to clearly explain data, drivers, and insights to actuarial, finance, and non-technical stakeholders

Pay Range:
$87,700.00
  • $157,800.
00 per year Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives. Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
