Job Description

Senior Actuary - Modeling This role is a senior leadership position within a Modeling Center of Excellence, reporting directly to the head of the function. The individual will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction and day‑to‑day execution of enterprise modeling initiatives, while driving consistency, rigor, and innovation across the organization's actuarial models. The position provides significant visibility to senior leadership and partners closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high‑quality modeling solutions across areas such as asset‑liability management, asset adequacy testing, ORSA, risk‑based capital, value of new business, and other strategic initiatives. Role Responsibilities Lead and collaborate with a team of experienced modeling actuaries to ensure integrity and consistency of the modeled balance sheet Analyze complex modeling outputs and translate results into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership Establish, maintain, and continuously enhance best practices for model development, production, governance, and validation Provide mentorship and technical leadership, elevating modeling capabilities through targeted training and development Partner closely with key stakeholders across the organization to support evolving business and risk management needs Support special projects and the implementation of sound, scalable modeling methodologies Assist production actuarial teams by resolving modeling issues and driving ongoing process improvements Promote consistency and compliance in modeling approaches across all lines of business Expand and deepen analytical capabilities enterprise‑wide Support new product implementation efforts and ongoing model validation activities Qualifications 10+ years of actuarial modeling experience, with deep expertise in advanced modeling techniques, risk management, and regulatory frameworks Demonstrated experience influencing senior management and critical stakeholders (3+ years preferred) Proven track record of modeling enterprise balance sheets, including both assets and liabilities, under a range of economic scenarios Strong leadership skills with experience guiding cross‑functional teams and mentoring actuarial talent Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into strategic business insights Strong problem‑solving skills and a strategic mindset around integrating modeling processes across the organization Expert knowledge of GAAP and Statutory requirements for Life and Annuity products; experience with indexed products and reinsurance concepts preferred Demonstrated interest in or experience applying emerging technologies, including automation and generative AI, to improve efficiency and control Experience with Economic Scenario Generation is a plus ASA or FSA credential required
