Executive Director Quality, Patient Safety, Infection Prevention, & Risk Job Summary:
The Manager of Quality, Data Analytics, and Outcomes oversee enterprise-wide quality activities, inpatient/outpatient reporting programs and associated actions such as submissions from multiple Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. They will lead and develop quality analysts to implement tools and strategies for effective data reporting and analysis to transform raw data into timely, meaningful, and actionable information to drive enterprise-wide improvement initiatives. Responsible for the development and optimization of data governance and reporting architectures to contribute to strategic objectives and maximize return on investment (ROI).Essential Functions:
Consistently use an outward mindset and put forth exemplary effort in accomplishing his/her goals and objectives in a manner that helps others to achieve their goals and objectives. Defines and align data governance and reporting strategies within the Oaklawn Quality Management System. Builds, maintain, and optimize data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metric profiles that support key operational and strategic decisions. Maintains a high level of interaction with leadership, providers and other members of the healthcare team, in compiling, reporting, analyzing and disseminating quality metrics to identify quality opportunities, create strategies for improvement and audit data submission process for efficiency and effectiveness. Manages and optimize processes for data intake, validation, mining and reporting, including modeling, visualization and communication among key stakeholders, both internal and external. Oversees the collection and submission of internal/external measures and metrics; coordinates collection, maintenance and reporting of informational reports from identified departments and committees, as necessary. Oversees the design and delivery of key internal/external reports and appropriate analysis to support strategic departmental and enterprise-wide initiatives including, but not limited to, MIPS, Meaningful Use, CMS Star and other P4P platforms as well as Press Ganey and required public reporting structures. Participates in cross-functional projects to guide optimization opportunities including oversight and support of the enterprise-wide electronic health records including HealtheIntent EDW or like projects. Leads and/or attend identified committees and meetings acting as content data expert and support performance improvement initiatives for internal as well as external initiatives. Provides ongoing communication, In collaboration with other team members, resources, education, and information to all stakeholders for issues related internal/external volunteer and mandatory reporting programs. Oversees data/report requests process including tracking, prioritization, and approval. Identifies, research, and communicate changes and updates for existing and new quality incentive programs, Recruits, trains, develops, supervises, and completes annual evaluations for quality department analysts, coordinators and quality incentive engineers (QIE). Oversees, supervises, and manages the performance of direct reports; constantly evaluates skill sets of team members to ensure ongoing education and certifications are met to fulfill the needs of the department and organization. Oversees and work with commercial payers and the incentive PCMH and PGIP programs. Ensures there is cross-training among team members to mitigate the risk of single points of failure. Works closely with the Oaklawn Information Technology (IT) department to overcome barriers in achieving goals for all quality and incentive programs.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in healthcare science, computer science, information technology, or related field. Five (5) years of analytics experience in data analysis, reporting, and problem-solving. Proficient in Microsoft Suite products, Tableau, and other testing, analytics, and visualization tools. Working knowledge of data mining principles and understanding utilizing analytical concepts and statistical techniques. Strong programming skills with querying languages, SQL.Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field. Certification, Business Intelligence, Tableau, SAS, or equivalent. Previous leadership experience overseeing and developing analytic teams. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must possess strong interpersonal and written communication and business writing skills to interact effectively and courteously with a diverse group of providers, leaders, and healthcare professionals both internal and external. Demonstrate strong project management skills to manage multiple competing priorities and attention to detail. Demonstrate the ability to maintain strong interpersonal relationships, create teams, and influence all levels of the organization. Self-directed while working as part of a team, with the ability to facilitate change, utilizing data to drive improvement. Possesses leadership competencies and skills to be able to coach, mentor, and develop staff while setting expectations and accountabilities. Remain vigilant and keep abreast of industry trends.Working Conditions:
Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Requires on-site presence and making rounds in the hospital and medical group facilities as need arises.Physical Requirements:
