Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Data Science Manager to lead a team of Data Scientists while contributing to the development, deployment, and scaling of production-grade machine learning and Generative AI solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science and NLP, significant recent experience with Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, and production ML systems, along with experience collaborating with ML engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle. Strong Python skills and recent people management experience are required.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of Data Scientists and provide technical guidance across data science initiatives.
  • Drive the development, deployment, and maintenance of production-grade machine learning and Generative AI solutions.
  • Design, implement, deploy, and evaluate LLM and Generative AI solutions, including RAG architectures.
  • Partner closely with ML Engineers and cross-functional teams throughout the product development and deployment lifecycle.
  • Support product build, production deployment, scaling, maintenance, and new feature development.
  • Apply machine learning algorithms including deep learning, gradient boosting, and random forests to solve complex business problems.
  • Work directly with large language models and Transformer-based architectures, including BERT, RoBERTa, and T5.
  • Apply and evaluate LLM technologies such as ChatGPT, GPT-3.5, Claude, and Mistral.
  • Develop solutions using large datasets and distributed computing technologies such as Hadoop and Spark.
  • Build and maintain scalable, production-grade ML systems.
  • Evaluate model performance and Generative AI implementations to ensure quality, reliability, and effectiveness.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on data science, machine learning, NLP, Generative AI, and LLM technologies.
  • Mentor, train, and support Data Scientists and other technical team members.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and contribute to data science best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of professional data science experience.
  • Strong background in Natural Language Processing (NLP).
  • 4-5+ years of strong hands-on Generative AI data science experience.
  • Recent people management experience, with Manager or Lead-level experience acceptable.
  • Strong experience developing and operating production-grade machine learning systems at scale.
  • Strong hands-on experience with LLM and Generative AI implementations and evaluations.
  • Strong experience designing, deploying, and evaluating RAG solutions.
  • Experience working through the complete product deployment lifecycle, including product build, production deployment, maintenance, and new feature development.
  • Experience working closely with ML Engineers through product development and deployment.
  • Strong Python programming experience.
  • Experience with machine learning algorithms, including deep learning, gradient boosting, and random forests.
  • Strong understanding of large language models and Transformer-based architectures.
  • Experience working with large datasets and distributed computing systems such as Hadoop and Spark.
  • Strong mentoring, training, communication, and technical leadership skills.
