Position Summary The IT, AI, Coding & Programming Trainer is responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering engaging, hands-on instruction that supports successful student learning outcomes. Trainers leverage real-world industry experience, project-based learning, and emerging technologies to prepare students for employment, certification, and career advancement. Minimum Requirements Education Appropriate level of education as outlined in the SPC Teaching Disciplines and Faculty Credentialing Guidelines Experience Professional experience in Information Technology, software development, AI, data, or related technical fields Prior teaching, training, mentoring, or workforce instruction experience preferred (college, corporate, or industry settings) Essential Responsibilities Plan and deliver high-quality instruction aligned with course objectives and workforce competencies Demonstrate instructional strategies that promote the acquisition of technical knowledge, coding skills, and problem-solving abilities Utilize observational, oral, and written assessments to guide and improve student learning Facilitate hands-on labs, projects, and real-world applications Create and maintain an inclusive, learner-centered environment that supports diverse learning styles and backgrounds Integrate current and emerging technologies , including AI tools and platforms, into instruction Deliver instruction in face-to-face, online, or hybrid formats, as assigned Comply with all SPC policies, procedures, and instructional standards Maintain currency in the field through ongoing professional development and industry engagement Effectively support diverse student populations, including adult learners and career changers Preferred Qualifications Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, AWS, Google, Adobe, Apple, etc.) Experience teaching coding bootcamps, IT certification prep, or workforce training programs Strong communication, facilitation, and instructional design skills Equal Access/Equal Opportunity The Board of Trustees of St. Petersburg College affirms its equal opportunity policy in accordance with the provisions of the Florida Educational Equity Act and all other relevant state and federal laws, rules and regulations.
