What you will do:
Build and productionize advanced computer vision and multimodal AI systems for real-world industrial deployment, with a focus on VLM/LLM-powered reasoning, machine vision, and advanced spatial AI. Transform large-scale visual data collected by autonomous robots into actionable insights for progress tracking, safety monitoring, and project intelligence. Develop AI systems for use in robotics, construction, energy, and telecommunications
Required:
3+ years of proven academic or industry experience building AI systems. Advanced "manual" coding and debugging skills (acquired during the "pre-agentic" era); Proficiency using modern AI-assisted development tools Solid problem-solving skills, strong ownership, and the ability to communicate clearly across technical and non-technical teams Familiarity with data pipelines, model evaluation, and real-world ML workflows Good to have: Strong background in mathematics, statistics, physics, or another highly quantitative field Experience with VLMs, LLMs, or multimodal AI systems Familiarity with MLOps, cloud infrastructure, and training or deployment pipelines Back-end experience with modern frameworks; Django and MySQL are a plus Working at Nextera is a great opportunity for those who love to get things done.
