Summary / Objective
The Analytics & AI Automation Engineer is responsible for improving data visibility, automating reporting, and driving practical AI adoption across a diversified group of operating companies (general construction, civil, trucking, and specialty services). This role focuses on building real-world solutions that enhance decision-making, eliminate manual processes, and integrate fragmented systems into a cohesive data environment. The position works directly with leadership to deliver real-time operational insights, improve efficiency, and support the company's long-term technology strategy. Job Duties / Essential Functions KPI Dashboards & Business Intelligence Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards for executive and operational use Deliver live, meeting-ready KPI reporting across all divisions Standardize metrics, definitions, and reporting structures across business units Integrate data from multiple systems (Procore, ERP/accounting, fleet, etc.) Ensure dashboards are accurate, reliable, and easy to interpret in real time Data Integration & Systems Support Build and maintain data pipelines across multiple systems and platforms Improve data flow, consistency, and reliability across the organization Establish a single source of truth for reporting and analytics Assist with administration and optimization of existing software systems Identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and opportunities for system consolidation Workflow Automation & Reporting Integration Automate recurring reporting processes (weekly operations meetings, project reviews, etc.) Embed live data into business workflows, including Word documents, reports, and meeting materials Reduce manual data preparation and reliance on spreadsheets Develop automation solutions using tools such as Power Automate, APIs, or custom scripts AI & Process Improvement Initiatives Evaluate and implement practical AI tools and LLM-based workflows Identify opportunities for automation, document generation, and process improvement Build lightweight AI-driven tools to support operations and decision-making Stay current on AI capabilities and recommend high-value applications Support leadership in developing and executing AI priorities and initiatives Preferred Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (preferred) 2-6 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or systems integration roles Strong experience with Power BI, including data modeling and dashboard development Proficiency in SQL and data transformation tools (Power Query or similar) Experience with Python or similar scripting languages Experience integrating data across multiple systems and APIs Familiarity with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) is a plus Exposure to AI tools, LLM APIs, or automation workflows preferred Experience in construction, logistics, or industrial environments is a plus
