Description - External About the Role Cognizant is seeking a highly skilled Technology Architect - Generative AI & Insurance Solutions to lead the design and evolution of enterprise-grade applications leveraging Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Java, REST APIs, PL/SQL, IBM ACE, and GitHub Copilot . This role will focus on delivering innovative solutions for the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance domain, enabling business transformation across underwriting, claims, policy administration, and customer service operations. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong insurance domain knowledge to architect scalable, secure, and resilient solutions that deliver measurable business value. In this role you will Lead end-to-end architecture and solution design for Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM) based applications in the Property & Casualty Insurance domain. Define application, integration, and data architecture patterns using Java, REST APIs, and PL/SQL. Architect and govern integration solutions using IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) to connect core insurance platforms with external systems and AI services. Establish enterprise architecture standards, reusable frameworks, and best practices for Generative AI adoption. Guide development teams on the effective use of Microsoft GitHub Copilot to improve productivity, code quality, testing, and development efficiency. Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, underwriters, and claims teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Design reference architectures, solution blueprints, and integration patterns that support business process automation and digital transformation initiatives. Establish design guardrails for responsible AI adoption, including security, privacy, explainability, compliance, and bias mitigation considerations. Define and govern non-functional requirements including scalability, availability, resiliency, observability, monitoring, and disaster recovery. Lead architectural reviews and provide technical guidance for complex application and integration challenges. Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and AI platforms to identify opportunities for innovation and operational improvement. Develop architecture documentation, interface specifications, data models, and technical standards. Partner with security, compliance, and operations teams to ensure solutions meet enterprise governance and regulatory requirements. Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues across AI, integration, application, and database layers. Strong expertise in Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI-driven application architectures. Advanced experience developing applications using Java, REST APIs, and PL/SQL. Hands-on experience designing and implementing integrations using IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE). Experience architecting and integrating AI services into enterprise business processes. Strong knowledge of application architecture, microservices, cloud-native development, and enterprise integration patterns. Experience guiding software engineering teams on the effective use of Microsoft GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted development practices. Deep understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), architecture governance, and solution delivery methodologies. Strong understanding of API management, service-oriented architecture, and event-driven architectures. Experience defining security architectures and implementing secure design principles. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to influence senior leaders and drive architectural decisions across large programs. These will help you stand out Deep Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance industry experience. Strong understanding of underwriting, policy administration, rating, billing, and claims management processes. Experience designing AI-powered solutions for insurance operations. Experience implementing responsible AI frameworks and governance models. Knowledge of cloud platforms and enterprise AI services. Experience modernizing legacy insurance applications and integration landscapes. Strong background in enterprise data architecture and analytics platforms. Experience mentoring architects, engineering leads, and development teams. Familiarity with insurance regulatory and compliance requirements. Experience leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives within the insurance industry. Certifications The following certifications are preferred: IBM Certified Solution Developer - App Connect Enterprise Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate Microsoft Azure AI Engineer Associate or equivalent AI certification Property & Casualty Insurance industry certifications Please note, this role is not able to offer visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future• Salary and Other Compensation The annual salary for this position is between $83,600 - $129,500 , depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
