POSITION SPECIFICS
The DII Lab at Penn State (College of Engineering) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to conduct research at the intersection of artificial intelligence, digital twins, engineering informatics, and intelligent construction.
Potential research topics include:
AI agents and large language models for engineering applications Knowledge graphs and graph-based reasoning BIM / IFC and digital twins Engineering requirement formalization and traceability Construction planning, scheduling, and constraint reasoning Automated verification and engineering decision support Dependency and impact analysis Integration of design, manufacturing, construction, and verification information
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in engineering, computer science, or a closely related field, completed by the start date Strong research and programming background Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research Strong scholarly publication record Strong written and oral communication skills Experience in one or more of the following is particularly desirable:
AI/ML LLMs/AI Agents Knowledge Graphs BIM/IFC Digital Twins Graph Neural Networks Construction Informatics Semantic Modeling Engineering Data Integration Start Date:
