Job Description

Altamira Technologies is seeking a Principal AI Scientist that possesses a mix of talent related to artificial intelligence / machine learning, data science, and traditional algorithms. In response to emergent customer requirements, the Principal AI Scientist leverages their understanding of national security missions to develop innovative and viable solutions. They create, lead, and educate technical proposal teams that effectively communicate those solutions through white papers, presentations, and proposals. Upon award, the Principal AI Scientists leads the team to successful execution of the contract. The position may be located in any of the following Altamira locations: McLean, VA; Denver, CO; State College, PA; Warrenton, VA; or Augusta, GA. Must be able to travel to McLean, VA; and Dayton, OH from your location as required. This position is predominately in-office with options for occasional remote/telework.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Design and guide the implementation of AI/ML, data science, data fusion, and data engineering techniques. Act as an internal subject-matter expert for AI/ML, data science, statistics, and experimental design. Coach and mentor colleagues to build technical competency of the team. Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to customers in proposals, written reports, and oral presentations.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field AND 5+ years datascience and AI experience. OR master's degree in data science, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field AND 2+ years datascience and AI experience. OR doctoral degree in data science, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field U.S. Citizenship
