Job Description
Description Are you a hands-on technologist who thrives at the intersection of AI strategy, field enablement, and mission-driven federal impact? Do you want to be the technical backbone behind how AWS delivers AI and Data solutions to Federal Civilian agencies — from prototype to production? AWS is seeking a Federal Civilian AI/Data Tech Lead to serve as the technical execution engine across our Data & AI Strategy, Product Management, and Market Intelligence functions. This role bridges the gap between strategic vision and technical delivery — technically authoring AI accelerators, enabling Cloud Development Engineers (CDEs) through hands-on mentorship, and ensuring every customer-facing artifact meets the highest bar of technical rigor. You'll work directly with account teams, GenAI specialists, ProServe, and partners to scope AI/Agentic AI opportunities, build repeatable solution patterns, and scale technical capacity across the Federal Civilian portfolio — including agencies such as ITA, DOI, and USPTO. This is a role for a builder who can lead from the front: facilitating discovery sessions, developing reference architectures, and creating the "train the trainer" flywheel that multiplies CDE impact across the field. Key job responsibilities
- Own technical execution across Data & AI Strategy, Product Management, and Market Intelligence — providing technical validation to assess AI maturity, qualify use cases, and measure meaningful outcomes across the Federal Civilian portfolio.
- Technically author and maintain the AI Accelerator catalog — build, validate, and version repeatable accelerators (GenAI, Agentic AI, Data Foundation, Amazon Connect, FWA, Supply Chain, Data Center/Mainframe Migration) that Product Management packages for reuse across the field.
- Accelerate CDE enablement activities — facilitate discovery and scoping for POCs and prototypes, document processes and best practices, and deliver hands-on "teach by doing" sessions that directly support CDE-led customer engagements.
- Serve as the technical quality backstop — review and elevate CDE-developed demos, whitepapers, and POC artifacts to ensure technical rigor and consistency, directly supporting the Engagement Playbook & Standards mechanism.
- Build and scale the "train the trainer" flywheel — create technical curriculum, reference architectures, and hands-on labs that multiply CDE capacity and enable rapid onboarding as the team scales.
- Lead technical discovery and scoping for AI and Agentic AI deals across Federal Civilian agencies, partnering with account managers, solutions architects, ProServe, GenAI Innovation Center, and SI/ISV partners.
- Serve as a customer-facing technical SME About the team The Mission AI Team is a single, integrated engine purpose-built to accelerate revenue and grow the 2027 pipeline for AWS Federal Civilian.
