Job Description

Research Ignited is seeking a part-time AI Bootcamp Instructor to teach motivated middle and high school students in a hands-on weekend program. This is a great opportunity for MS/PhD students, advanced undergraduates, educators, or professionals with strong Python and AI/ML skills who enjoy teaching young learners. You will not need to create curriculum from scratch. We provide ready-to-teach slides, guided Google Colab/Jupyter notebooks, project instructions, and troubleshooting resources. Responsibilities Lead a small cohort of 10-14 middle/high school students through a 2-day AI bootcamp Teach beginner-friendly Python, Generative AI, prompt engineering, APIs, and simple AI app development Help students build a final AI-powered app or project Guide students through coding labs and troubleshoot common Python/API issues Explain technical concepts clearly using real-world examples Maintain an engaging, organized, and supportive classroom environment Communicate progress or issues to the Research Ignited program team Ideal Qualifications Current or recent MS/PhD student in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, Software Engineering, or related field preferred Strong undergraduate seniors with teaching experience may also apply Strong Python skills required Familiarity with Generative AI tools, LLM APIs, Streamlit, LangChain, CrewAI, or similar tools is a plus Prior experience as a TA, tutor, instructor, camp counselor, or mentor preferred Comfortable teaching and managing a classroom of middle/high school students Reliable, punctual, professional, and enthusiastic Must be willing to complete a background check for working with minors Schedule Typical weekend bootcamp schedule:
Saturday:
9:30 AM - 4:30
PM Sunday:
9:30 AM - 4:30 PM We will be also exploring hiring for weekday camps. Exact dates will be confirmed based on instructor availability and cohort schedule. Compensation Competitive hourly or weekend-based contract pay, based on experience. Selected candidates may be asked to submit a short 3-minute video explaining one technical concept to a 9th-grade student, such as: What is an API? What is prompt engineering? What is an AI agent? Research Ignited helps middle and high school students explore AI, robotics, computer science, and research through hands-on programs and mentorship.

$50.00 - $75.00 per hour
