Job Description

Senior Bioinformatics Applications Scientist, NGS About the Role We're seeking a Senior Bioinformatics Applications Scientist to join a commercial team supporting customers across genomics and NGS. This is a customer-facing role combining bioinformatics, NGS applications, technical consulting, and sales support . You'll partner with customers to understand their technical needs, provide bioinformatics and NGS expertise, support custom panel design, troubleshoot data analysis workflows, and collaborate closely with Sales, Product, R D, and other internal teams. Remote | ~10% travel What You'll Do Serve as a technical expert for customers and Sales teams across NGS and bioinformatics applications. Support pre- and post-sales activities, including customer meetings, presentations, technical discussions, and troubleshooting. Support custom NGS panel design and customer-specific applications. Provide bioinformatics support for NGS data analysis, proof-of-concept studies, and workflow troubleshooting. Translate customer requirements into technical solutions and communicate customer feedback internally. Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, R D, and other teams to support customer and market needs. Stay current with advances in genomics, NGS, and bioinformatics. Travel approximately 10% for customer and internal meetings. What You Bring PhD + 2 years, or
BS/MS + 7
years, of relevant biotech/commercial genomics experience. Strong knowledge of NGS applications and bioinformatics , including WES, RNA-seq, methylation, or related workflows. Experience with tools such as BWA, GATK, IGV, UCSC, SAMtools, Picard, and bedtools . Strong Linux/command-line skills. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer-facing skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment. Nice to Have Experience in medical genetics, oncology, or immunology . 4+ years in a customer-facing scientific or technical role. Molecular biology and NGS library preparation experience. Strong understanding of molecular and medical genetics. This is an excellent opportunity for a bioinformatics or genomics professional who enjoys working directly with customers and wants to combine deep technical expertise with commercial impact.
