Job Description

Please consider before applying. This position is expected to start August 2026 and continue through the entire Fall term (i.e., through December) or into early Spring 2027, if available. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time, for most internships.
International Students:
If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. Again, please do not apply until you know you can work 40 hours per week. This is required for external applicants. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year. Tesla is seeking a highly motivated intern to join our Analytics & Automation team. You will take the lead in driving business process transformation for cross-functional teams within the Finance organizations. Additionally, you will lead business process analysis, process and system strategy definition, requirement documentation, internal/external stakeholder alignment, and execution planning. This role requires a strong and dedicated team player who is familiar with business operations, is strategic, possesses strong analytical skills, has acute attention to detail, and executes at a high caliber. Perform rigorous analyses on large, complex data sets and provide strategic insights, hypotheses, and conclusions based upon findings to leaders at all levels Work with business and engineering teams to drive the development of Tesla's data, reporting, and analytics platforms Build, maintain, and improve data models, forecast models, dashboards, and data pipelines Create clean, reliable, and scalable "single-source-of-truth" data sets by partnering with data quality and application engineering teams to address data issues in upstream systems and document data lineage, business logic, and KPI definitions Partner with business analysts to help automate manual workflows and train them in tools and skills to become self-sufficient as needed Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in STEM or quantitative field (CS, Applied Statistics, Operations Research) or in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or equivalent Advanced knowledge of SQL and experience with commercial and emerging BI databases, technologies, and languages Experience with data analytics tools and languages (Python, R) Experience with advanced Excel BI functionality and languages (Power Query (M), PowerPivot (DAX)) Knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and financial modeling Ability to self-start and self-direct work in an unstructured environment, comfortable dealing with ambiguity Excellent problem-framing, problem solving and project management skills and ability to change direction quickly Impeccable organizational skills and acute attention to detail Benefits As a full-time Tesla Intern, you will be eligible for: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans.
