SAP Project Systems (PS) Functional Consultant

We are seeking an SAP PS Functional Consultant for an SAP ECC carveout project. You will map, migrate, and validate active and historical "closed" project data, managing its deep integration with SAP CO and providing module guidance across SD and MM touchpoints. This role is also responsible for understanding the requirements, configuration as needed, defining test strategy and test plan; executing system integration testing (SIT), supporting user acceptance testing (UAT) and also cutover planning, production deployment and hypercare support as necessary.
Key Responsibilities Carveout Scope & Mapping:
Identify, isolate, and map SAP PS data objects (WBS structures, networks, milestones, and activities) belonging to the carved-out company codes. Understand requirements, design solution, perform configurations and deliver solution as per project requirement
Closed Project Strategy:
Collaborate with the Data and ABAP leads to define the business logic for migrating historical, closed, and fully settled projects into the target system, ensuring historical integrity is maintained. Defining data segregation criteria to untangle and migrate open transactional data as required for the carve out company codes
Deep CO Integration:
Manage and validate the tight integration between SAP PS and Controlling (CO), focusing on project cost objects, budgeting, internal orders, results analysis (RA), and settlement profiles, etc. as needed.
Cross-Module Collaboration:
Provide guidance and support to functional tracks and business users on PS touchpoints with Finance (FI) Sales & Distribution (SD) and Materials Management (MM) as needed
Testing & Validation:
Partner with the Test Lead to design detailed test scenarios, review test scripts, and execute unit testing (UT), system integration testing(SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT) as needed for the carve out project, including historical data and open data migration Cutover planning, production deployment and hypercare phase support: collaborate with other functional, technical or integration team to plan cutover, mockloads, dress rehearsals to finalize cutover runbook, perform production cutover and hypercare phase support as per project requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications Experience:
6+ years of functional consulting experience in SAP PS (Project Systems), preferably with exposure to SAP Carveouts or company code splits.
Historical Data Migration:
Familiarity with writing functional specifications for custom ABAP extraction reports or data migration routines. Experience managing or validating the migration of closed/completed operational data and understanding its financial downstream impacts.
FICO Integration Expertise:
Strong understanding of how PS integrates structurally with SAP FI and CO (specifically WBS element settlements to cost centers, profitability segments, or assets).
SAP Integration:
Comfort guiding business users through PS integration with SD and MM.
ECC Environment:
Strong functional expertise in
SAP ECC 6.0
landscapes, including standard configuration, tables, and standard migration methodologies (LSMW) Preferred Qualifications Strong hands-on configuration or functional familiarity with SAP CO modules (such as Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, and Internal Orders).
