Business Technologist day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Employing some combination (2 or more) of analysis, computer science, mathematics, and software engineering skills to devise strategies for extracting meaning and value from large datasets.
- Through analytic modeling, scripting, and/or programming, develop and implement qualitative and quantitative methods for characterizing large datasets in various states of organization, cleanliness and structure.
- Reviewing the nature and quality of cost data sources and evaluate their relevance to analyses; recommending action for improvement and use of sources.
- Translating practical mission needs and analytic questions related to large datasets into technical requirements and, conversely, assist others with drawing appropriate conclusions from the analysis of such data.
- Effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences through varied visualization and presentation methods.
- Design analytic tables, reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools and platforms.
FULL PERFORMANCE
Entry is with a high school diploma or GED plus 7 years of relevant experience, an Associate's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, a Master's degree plus 1 year of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree and no experience. Relevant experience must include one or more of the following: business, finance, computer programming, or management information systems SENIOR Entry is with a high school diploma or GED plus 10 years of relevant experience, an Associate's degree plus 8 years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience, a Master's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree plus 2 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience must include one or more of the following: business, finance, computer programming, or management information systems. Additionally, must have formal or informal leadership experience. Education Degree must be in a Business Field (for example, Program Management, Business Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, and Economics) or a Technical Field (for example, Engineering, Systems Management, Computer Science, and Information Technology). Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position.Salary Range:
$102,415- $187,093 (Full Performance, Senior) Salary range varies by location, work level, and relevant experience to the position.
