Job Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This role is intended for an experienced insurance analyst with a strong foundation in underwriting, actuarial principles, and large‑group medical pricing. The Analyst will independently manage underwriting support for groups with 100+ employees, producing accurate renewal projections, market evaluations, and strategic recommendations with minimal ramp‑up. Onboarding will focus on Caravus‑specific underwriting methodology, internal platforms such as Caravus Sync, and client deliverables rather than core insurance fundamentals. Success requires sound judgment, technical confidence, and the ability to contribute effectively from day one. Lead and manage the carrier RFP and underwriting process for complex large‑group accounts (100+ lives), from data submission through final rate projections Independently evaluate carrier proposals, ensuring competitive and compliant plan alternatives aligned with client strategy Develop and maintain advanced Excel models for medical pricing analysis, leveraging complex formulas, data validation, and high‑accuracy data inputs Analyze competitive market data and synthesize results into clear, actionable insights for benefit consultants and clients Serve as primary liaison between carriers, consultants, and clients to resolve data gaps, underwriting questions, and timing constraints Drive underwriting outcomes by proactively managing carrier follow‑ups and ensuring timely, accurate quote delivery Utilize Salesforce CRM daily to manage workflows, track opportunities, and support underwriting and renewal activities Identify and implement operational improvements through process optimization and enhanced analytical workflows Maintain deep Carrier and product knowledge by participating in carrier training, workshops, and strategic meetings Communicate market, pricing, and product updates internally to support informed consulting recommendations Provide advanced underwriting and analytical support to benefit consultants as needed Assist benefit consultants as neededJob Type:
