Job Location Raleigh, NC Department Enterprise Application Services About the Department Enterprise Application Services (EAS), a unit in the Office of Information Technology (OIT), is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, enhancement, maintenance and operational support of the University's enterprise business applications.This includes:
development, operation & maintenance of all enterprise administrative systems (Advancement, Business Intelligence, Financials, HR, Identity Management, Imaging, Non-Credit Education, Portal, Research Administration and Student Information Systems, etc.), configuration management, database administration, maintenance, enhancements, and application integration. Essential Job Duties Help advance NC State's research enterprise by supporting the systems that enable research administration across the University. As the Senior Business Analyst for the Enterprise Research Administration ( ERA ) System , you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, enhancement, and support of the University's enterprise research administration platform. Working closely with campus stakeholders and IT partners, you will develop and maintain solutions that support the full research lifecycle while ensuring reliable, efficient, and user-focused system functionality across multiple ERA modules.Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis & Solution Development Partner with campus stakeholders and IT teams to analyze business needs, develop functional and technical specifications, and design, configure, and enhance the Enterprise Research Administration (ERA) System. Support multiple ERA modules, including Conflict of Interest/Commitment, Animal Care & Use, Human Subjects, Proposal Development, Proposal Tracking, Subrecipient, and Post Award Management. Design, build, and implement practical, cost-effective business solutions that integrate seamlessly within a complex enterprise environment while evaluating emerging technologies for future organizational needs. System Implementation & Project Management Prepare, maintain, and communicate project plans that support the full software development life cycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering through implementation and post-migration validation. Coordinate development activities, monitor project progress, and collaborate with campus and IT partners to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule. Support system configuration, code and integration development, testing, Subject Matter Expert (SME) training, and ongoing operational support. Testing, Quality Assurance & Technical Support Perform detailed business analysis, solution development, regression testing, performance testing, and quality assurance activities to ensure system reliability and functionality. Develop and maintain technical documentation, communicate project status, and support continuous system improvements through effective troubleshooting and issue resolution. Assist customers with defining requirements, implementing solutions, testing enhancements, and resolving technical and functional issues in a timely and effective manner. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Master's degree and at least two years of relevant experience; or Bachelor's degree with at least three years' of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. For management‐level roles, also include with the above requirements 1‐2 years of supervisory experience. Other Required Qualifications Experience configuring and supporting InfoEd's enterprise software application, including managing system settings, security, forms, reports, scheduled tasks, or comparable administrative functions. Demonstrated experience analyzing business and technical requirements, identifying complex problems, and developing practical solutions that support business processes and customer needs. Experience working through all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, business analysis, solution design, testing, documentation, implementation, and post-deployment support. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, balance competing priorities, and meet deadlines while collaborating effectively with business stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership. Experience planning, executing, and documenting testing activities, including functional, regression, or user acceptance testing, to ensure system quality and reliability. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical and functional information effectively through written documentation and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
