Reporting to th e Executive Director of Business Intelligence and Analytics, the Business Intelligence Coordinator is responsible for proactively supporting the mission and goals of UTFI by delivering ad-hoc data requests, identifying data integrity issues, monitoring scheduled reports for delivery, developing dashboards for Advancement staff and continually improving BI processes and technology. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
One- Time and Recurring Analytics/ Reporting Projects:
Writes SQL queries to complete ad-hoc data requests accurately, promptly, and with minimal direction, while verifying that reports reflect certified metrics and data governance standards. Monitors scheduled reports to ensure timely completion and communicate any data discrepancies discovered along the way. Prepares, tests, and distributes weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly fundraising, metrics, and operations reports across the university and its campuses, while recommending ways to streamline reporting methods.
Data Warehouse, Dashboard Visualization and Reporting Infrastructure:
Reviews and tests code changes to existing views and tables, and identifies needs for new tables, functions, and stored procedures that strengthen reporting capabilities. Supports testing and development of dashboards, ensuring data accuracy and consistency in design. Develops documentation on BI team for best practices, including code review, dashboard development and testing, and standard follow-up times for end-user inquiries.
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:
Responds to routine staff questions and directs complex inquiries to the appropriate subject matter expert or director. Contributes to developing the ongoing role and function of the UTFI Office of Business Intelligence. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience The candidate who fills the Business Intelligence Coordinator position is required to have: Bachelor's degree 1+ years of experience using SQL, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studio Familiarity with reporting tools such as Microsoft SSRS, and visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to express ideas and effective story- telling through data, reports, and dashboards. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Excellent analytical, quantitative, and computer skills and be highly proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly, Excel) Experience in version control software such as GitHub A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required due to travel responsibilities of the position.
