Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated quantitative professional to join our team. The Enterprise Analytics Outcomes Specialist will play a key role in evaluating member care and support programs by developing models and conducting associated analytic work. The ideal candidate will have strong analytic and modeling skills and the ability to share findings to inform and guide the business as they improve efficiency and performance. Familiarity with the healthcare domain is a plus. The Outcomes Specialist will contribute to complex data and analytics projects under the guidance of senior team members.
Work Arrangement:
This is a 100% Remote position Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM EST to 5:00
PM EST Responsibilities:
Program Evaluation:
Formulate and test hypotheses to evaluate program effectiveness and calculate return on investment (ROI) to support decision-making.
Comparative Effectiveness:
Conduct analyses to determine differential impacts between programs, business segments, and/or populations.
Predictive Modeling:
Develop, validate, and implement predictive models to forecast adverse healthcare outcomes, using various statistical techniques.
Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including clinicians, finance, actuary, compliance, information systems and/or operations, to understand their challenges and provide data-driven insights. Manage multiple large projects and direct small teams of analysts independently.
Data Management:
Cleanse, manipulate, and analyze large datasets. Ensure data integrity and consistency for accurate modeling.
Visualization:
Create intuitive visualizations and reports which help stakeholders make informed decisions.
Continuous Learning:
Stay updated with the latest trends, techniques, and best practices in data science and healthcare analytics.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and substantial healthcare experience required. Minimum of one (1) year experience in outcomes research or predictive modeling in the healthcare field. Education and experience in statistical modeling and analysis, data mining, mathematics, and pattern recognition. At least one (1) year of experience programming in Python, R, or SAS. Python experience is strongly preferred. Databricks experience preferred. Familiarity with healthcare datasets, standards, and terminologies, including claims, authorizations, membership (834/820), and provider/network data. Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau. Healthcare publication experience with reputable journals. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills. Motivated by delivering a good quality product and ensuring that it meets customer needs. Understands how to ask probing questions and deliver insights rather than just 'data'.
Preferences:
Two or more years of experience in outcomes research or predictive modeling in the health care field. Four or more years of experience in developing reports or dashboards in Power BI. Four or more years of experience in developing scripts in Microsoft SQL Server. Master's or PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Operations Research, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative field.
