Summer Associate Internship (Business Intelligence Analyst) Navy Federal Credit Union United States, Virginia, Winchester Sep 09, 2026 Overview The Contact Center's Risk Strategy, Planning, Analytics, Reporting, and Communications (SPARC) Team is seeking a curious, analytical, and driven Business Intelligence Analyst Intern to help transform data into actionable insights. This role is ideal for students interested in analytics, reporting, business intelligence, process improvement, risk management, and strategic decision support. As an intern, you will work alongside analysts and business leaders to explore data, identify trends, develop reporting solutions, and contribute to initiatives that help leaders make informed decisions. About Our Team The SPARC Team enables leadership decision-making through data, insights, governance, strategic planning, and effective communication. Our work spans reporting and dashboard development, workflow design, data governance, strategic planning, maturity assessments, risk intelligence, and executive communications. We partner closely with leaders to transform risk information into action and help drive continuous improvement across the organization. Your Role As a Business Intelligence Analyst Intern, you will help collect, organize, analyze, and visualize information that supports business decision-making. You will learn how reporting, data governance, and analytics come together to create meaningful business intelligence. The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2027 and ending in August 2027. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later. Work on meaningful projects with visible leadership impact Gain hands-on experience with modern analytics and reporting tools Learn how data supports risk management and strategic decision-making Collaborate with experienced analysts, leaders, and business partners Build a portfolio of real-world work and professional experience Potential Projects Evaluating the effectiveness of business and risk indicators Assessing monitoring and threshold management practices Identifying opportunities for AI-enabled insight generation Analyzing historical trends and performance data Improving reporting and decision-support capabilities Developing recommendations that improve organizational intelligence and visibility Responsibilities Analyze business data and identify meaningful trends Support development of dashboards and visual reporting solutions Assist with requirements gathering and business process documentation Help improve data quality, consistency, and governance practices Create presentations and summaries that communicate findings clearly Participate in project meetings and collaborative problem solving Conduct research and benchmarking to support strategic initiatives Present recommendations and project outcomes to leadership Qualifications Pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Interest in data visualization and reporting Comfortable working with basic data analysis tools and concepts Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn Desired Qualifications Experience with Power BI, Databricks, SQL, Tableau, Python, or similar tools Experience with SharePoint Online Familiarity with business process improvement concepts What You'll Gaine Real-world business intelligence experience Exposure to executive reporting and strategic planning processes Experience translating data into business recommendations Presentation and stakeholder engagement skills Mentorship from experienced analytics and risk professionals A completed project you can showcase in future academic or professional opportunities
