Tableau Application Analyst (San Mateo, CA, 94404) | 07/30/26 Job Description Description/Scope of Work Serve as the Tableau subject matter expert during initial rollout in Environmental Health Services (EHS)
Provide best-practice guidance and real-world use case scenarios tailored to EHS reporting needs
Deliver ongoing Tableau application support during the implementation period
Train super users and business analysts to support Tableau independently after the engagement ends
Submit daily status reports to Health IT leadership Examples of Duties Report to the department business analyst for daily task assignments
Meet with EHS staff (via MS Teams or in person) to gather reporting requirements
Partner with the business analyst to build training documentation and reference materials
Deliver hands-on, assisted training sessions to end users
Troubleshoot Tableau dashboard and data connection issues as they come up
Document recurring issues and solutions to build a knowledge base for super users Requirements Local candidate, able to commute to South San Francisco or San Mateo daily
Proficient in Tableau (dashboard design, data connections, publishing, and troubleshooting)
Salesforce experience preferred, especially pulling and structuring data for reporting
Comfortable with MS Word, Outlook, and MS Teams
Strong written communication skills, able to follow and produce clear instructions and documentation
Reliable personal transportation
Personal phone for direct communication Qualifications Demonstrated Tableau proficiency, ideally with training or enablement experience
Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical business users
Comfortable working within local government business practices and standards Education & Experience College degree or equivalent technical experience in a related field Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities MS Office (Word, Outlook, Teams)
