Health Solutions West is the Western slope's largest behavioral health care organization, covering more than 23,000 square miles across 10 counties. Medical Dental Vision Paid time off accrual and generous leave policy 403(b) benefits with 6% company match What You'd Be Doing As an integral member of the Business Intelligence (BI) team, the BI Developer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of mission-critical enterprise BI reporting and analytics tools. Working with cross-functional teams, gather and document reporting requirements to meet business needs. Using skills and experience as a BI Developer, use those requirements to design, develop, test, and implement tools that utilize the underlying data stores/data warehouses/data marts.
Responsibilities include the following:
Specifically, the Business Intelligence Developer Participates in business analysis activities to gather requirements Translates business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement the required tools Provides support as required to ensure the availability and performance of developed tools Ensures that proper configuration management, security, and change controls are implemented and tested Provides technical assistance and cross training to other team members Designs and implements technology best practices, guidelines, and repeatable processes Perform duties capably with moderate to low supervision Provides updates on open tickets to business owners and project managers as appropriate and responds to feedback in a timely manner. Attends and participates in supervisions and team meetings as appropriate and provided meaningful feedback and participation in all meetings. Produces code/script that conforms to Coding Standard Policies & Procedures What We're Looking For—The Must-Haves Associates degree in computer science or equivalent combination of experience, education and training, or High School Diploma/GED and 2 years' experience developing, implementing, and maintaining applications. Colorado driver's license, a good driving record, and access to transportation during work hours At least 2 years of experience (beyond primary education requirement) developing, implementing, and maintaining applications, including the following: Working with users in a requirements analysis role Exposure to Data warehouse implementations, operation, and maintenance, including ETL Understanding of current data concepts such as predictive analytics and forecasting. Knowledge of logical and physical data modeling concepts (e.g., relational, dimensional) Excellent interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills are required to support working in project environments that include internal, external, and customer teams Background in either relational or non-relational databases, with basic development skills in SQL Willingness to develop analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities, and assess and adjust quickly to changing priorities Adapts easily to different environments such as team projects or working independently Must be willing and able to work in Grand Junction, Colorado with appropriate notice and coordination What We'd Like to See in You—The Nice-to-Haves Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field Programming/scripting experience related to ETL and analytical processes such as PHP, PowerShell and Python JSON, JavaScript, JQuery experienc Information Technology or Business Intelligence-related certifications Performance tuning experience (MS SQL Server configuration, query optimization, hardware configuration) Health Solutions West expects all staff to Adapt to change in the workplace and use change as an opportunity for innovation and creativity; Take ownership of problems, brainstorm problem resolutions, and use sound judgment in selecting solutions to problems, and demonstrate consistent follow through; Possess the job knowledge and skills to perform the fundamental job functions, and assume greater responsibility over time regarding the scope of work; Inspire and model collaborative teamwork; and Demonstrate accommodation, politeness, helpfulness, trust building, appropriate boundaries, and flexibility in customer service.
