ROLE SUMMARY
The Salesforce Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting scalable Salesforce solutions that improve business processes, customer engagement, operational efficiency, and data quality. This role works closely with business stakeholders, Salesforce administrators, business analysts, architects, QA teams, and integration teams to translate business requirements into secure, maintainable, and high-performing Salesforce capabilities. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce configuration, integration patterns, data modeling, security, and release management. The role requires a balance of technical development skills, problem-solving ability, platform best practices, and strong communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Salesforce Development and Customization Design, develop, enhance, and maintain custom Salesforce applications using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura components, Visualforce, SOQL, SOSL, and Salesforce APIs. Build custom objects, fields, page layouts, record types, validation rules, flows, approval processes, custom metadata, and platform automation based on business needs. Develop reusable and scalable components that follow Salesforce coding standards, security requirements, and governor-limit best practices. Customize Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, or other Salesforce products based on organizational requirements. Evaluate declarative versus programmatic options and recommend the most maintainable solution for each requirement. Requirements Analysis and Solution Design Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to review requirements, clarify business rules, identify gaps, and propose Salesforce solution options. Translate functional requirements, process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria into technical designs and development tasks. Prepare technical specifications, design notes, configuration documents, deployment instructions, and support documentation. Participate in solution design sessions and provide input on feasibility, effort estimates, dependencies, technical risks, and implementation approach. Integration and Data Management Design and develop integrations between Salesforce and internal or external systems using REST APIs, SOAP APIs, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, middleware, ETL tools, or custom integration services. Support integrations with ERP, CRM, data warehouse, marketing automation, e-commerce, customer support, and other enterprise platforms. Create and maintain data migration scripts, data load processes, data validation routines, and data cleanup activities using tools such as Data Loader, Workbench, Salesforce CLI, or ETL platforms. Troubleshoot integration failures, data synchronization issues, API errors, authentication problems, and data quality exceptions. Security, Performance, and Platform Best Practices Implement Salesforce security controls including profiles, permission sets, role hierarchy, sharing rules, field-level security, object permissions, and record visibility rules. Develop code that follows secure coding standards, handles exceptions properly, protects sensitive data, and respects user permissions. Optimize Apex, SOQL, flows, and Lightning components for performance, scalability, reliability, and user experience. Monitor and resolve governor-limit issues, performance bottlenecks, long-running transactions, and platform constraints. Follow Salesforce best practices for multi-tenant architecture, metadata management, configuration governance, and technical debt reduction. Testing, Deployment, and Release Management Write, maintain, and execute Apex unit tests with sufficient code coverage and meaningful assertions to validate business logic and prevent regressions. Support system testing, integration testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and production validation activities. Use Salesforce DX, Git, change sets, DevOps Center, Copado, Gearset, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools for source control and deployment automation. Prepare deployment plans, release notes, rollback plans, and post-deployment validation steps. Participate in code reviews and ensure development work meets quality, security, and maintainability standards. Production Support and Continuous Improvement Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve Salesforce production issues, user-reported defects, integration failures, automation errors, and data inconsistencies. Provide root-cause analysis and recommend preventive actions to improve platform stability. Support ongoing enhancements, platform upgrades, managed package updates, Salesforce release readiness, and technical maintenance activities. Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve user experience, reduce manual work, and increase automation within Salesforce. Collaboration and Communication Work closely with product owners, business analysts, Salesforce administrators, architects, QA testers, project managers, and business stakeholders. Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and provide realistic timelines, risks, and dependencies. Contribute to Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, demos, retrospectives, and release planning. Mentor junior developers or administrators when needed and promote Salesforce development standards across the team. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Technology, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered. 4+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, or equivalent experience based on role level. Strong experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, Salesforce configuration, and Salesforce security fundamentals. Experience implementing and supporting Salesforce solutions in a production environment. Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams. Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum delivery methods, user stories, acceptance criteria, sprint planning, and defect management. Understanding of Salesforce release management, deployment strategy, environment management, and production support processes. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, CPQ, Revenue Cloud, Field Service, Marketing Cloud, or Financial Services Cloud. Experience integrating Salesforce with ERP, e-commerce, data warehouse, customer service, finance, or third-party enterprise systems. Experience with middleware or integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Informatica, Boomi, Workato, Azure Integration Services, or similar tools. Experience with enterprise DevOps tools such as Copado, Gearset, AutoRABIT, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Salesforce DevOps Center. Knowledge of Salesforce architectural patterns, integration patterns, asynchronous processing, event-driven architecture, and large data volume considerations. Experience working in regulated, global, multi-business-unit, or complex enterprise environments. Experience with managed packages, AppExchange solutions, Salesforce Shield, encryption, audit trails, or advanced security requirements. Experience with reporting, dashboards, CRM analytics, data governance, and master data management concepts. Users understand and adopt new Salesforce functionality with reduced process confusion and fewer support escalations. Data quality, reporting accuracy, process consistency, and operational efficiency improve over time. Stakeholders receive timely communication regarding scope, decisions, risks, dependencies, development and release readiness.
