POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides executive leadership for digital product design and management, alignment of products to Banner's strategic goals, and digital product adoption to enhance patient engagement, operational efficiency, and revenue growth. Defines the digital roadmap, integrating AI/health tech solutions, directing cross-functional teams, and ensuring regulatory compliance, acting as a key liaison with senior leadership. This role requires strategic collaboration with business unit leaders, department heads, and executive stakeholders to align with organizational objectives and operational needs. CORE FUNCTIONS 1.
Strategic Leadership and Planning:
Develops and executes digital business strategies that influence organizational goals and improve patient, health plan member and employee experiences. Identifies emerging digital trends and technologies to maintain competitive advantage. Establishes delivery standards and performance metrics. 2. Digital Product Ownership:
Directs the end-to-end lifecycle of digital products from conception through launch, including roadmaps, identification of integration capabilities, and adoption strategies to ensure consumer-grade, scalable solutions. Oversees the development and optimization of digital products, platforms, and services. Ensures seamless integration of digital solutions across customer touchpoints. 3. Cross-Functional Engagement:
Executes the enterprise-wide design of integrated digital engagement ecosystems across websites, mobile apps, call centers, revenue cycle, marketing channels, and clinical operations to ensure a cohesive patient, health plan member, and employee experience. 4. Digital Transformation:
Drives innovation in AI, digital content platforms, and marketing technology, adopting emerging technologies to improve commercial and clinical outcomes. Uses analytics, market, and user insights to continuously refine and improve digital initiatives. 5. Project and Portfolio Oversight:
Monitors active digital projects in collaboration with Delivery Office. Drives project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Prioritizes competing initiatives based on business value and strategic alignment. Implements team standardization across the digital product management operating model. 6. Compliance and Governance:
Leads strategic relationships with IT, legal, and compliance teams to ensure all digital solutions meet strict privacy, data governance, and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, privacy, legal, cybersecurity). 7. Operational Excellence:
Manages relationships with external agencies and vendors, overseeing digital budgets, and ensuring compliance with data privacy standards. Manages vendor relationships and technology partnerships. 8. Innovation and Automation:
Evaluates and implements technologies (AI, machine learning, automation, etc.). Directs and collaborates with IT and technology teams to ensure robust digital infrastructure. Drives a culture of innovation and change, assisting leadership and staff to adapt to new digital workflows. 9. Team Development:
Builds and mentors a high-performing Digital Product Management team across multiple locations, fostering professional development, technical skill advancement and succession planning. Builds competent teams, manages performance and provides professional development. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Services Administration or a relevant field, or equivalent education and experience. Strong knowledge of operations in applicable area(s) of position responsibility, as normally obtained through seven years of progressively responsible managerial experience in applicable area(s) of position responsibility, including a minimum of three years management level experience within a health care system setting or large multi-operational, complex corporate environment. Experience working in a large, highly-matrixed, integrated delivery system in a senior management level position. Proven track record of driving strategic and performance outcomes, as well as accomplishing organizational goals. Experience anticipating and responding to the needs of internal and external customers. Proven experience in managing fiscally sound, profitable, efficient, and responsible operations. Strong financial and business acumen. Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting methodologies. Skilled in effectively engaging management level staff, employees, and stakeholders in order to build partnerships, achieve strategic initiatives, and attain organizational goals; managing problems and situations where uncertainty is inherent; constructing new and innovative solutions for complex and varying problems and situations while approaching issues/problems by considering the larger perspective or context; mentoring and coaching management level staff by providing open and honest feedback that results in enhanced performance outcomes; developing and implementing strategic goals and initiatives that demonstrate a strong commitment to organizational success; effectively allocating resources in order to accomplish organizational goals; quickly assessing and assimilating organizational and industry financial dynamics in order to make appropriate decisions and act quickly on new initiatives; negotiating win-win scenarios with outside vendors/partners while representing the organization in the best possible light; developing collaborative relationships with internal and/or external strategic partners and/or other applicable parties.
