CONFIDENTIAL Network/Telecom Director

Job Description A client of Insight Global is seeking a Director of Network & Telecommunications to serve as a senior technology leader responsible for transforming enterprise networking and unified communications into a resilient, scalable, and service-driven capability. This individual will provide strategic vision and hands-on leadership to modernize core network and communications platforms while improving operational maturity, reliability, and customer experience across a large, distributed enterprise environment. This role will define and execute a multi-year transformation roadmap aligned to business strategy, focusing on modern networking, UCaaS, CCaaS, automation, and cloud connectivity. The Director will act as a change leader, guiding teams through technological and organizational evolution while balancing innovation with operational stability to protect mission-critical services. Key responsibilities include full accountability for network and telecommunications availability, performance, resiliency, and security. The Director will establish standardized operating models, service catalogs, SLAs, and governance, ensuring 24x7 operational readiness and effective on-call support. This role will also lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and outcomes-based delivery. Additionally, this leader will manage strategic vendor relationships, oversee financial planning related to network and telecom services, and provide clear, executive-level reporting on operational performance and transformation progress. Strong partnership with executive leadership and business stakeholders is critical to ensure technology capabilities directly enable enterprise priorities and customer experience excellence. • 8-12 years of progressive IT experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role
• Deep enterprise networking expertise (switching, routing, wireless)
• Hands-on experience with Aruba (including ClearPass NAC) and Juniper
• Experience with Cisco Data Center Switching and Cisco Webex UCaaS / CCaaS
• Strong background with Fortinet firewalls and F5 load balancers
• Proven experience leading enterprise-scale network and telecom transformations
• Experience owning availability, resiliency, performance, and security for 24x7 environments
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience modernizing environments with SD-WAN, network automation, and cloud connectivity
• Healthcare or highly regulated industry experience
• Experience building service catalogs, SLAs, and governance models
• Background leading product-aligned or service-oriented operating models
• Experience managing large vendor portfolios and transformation budgets
