Job Description

Blue Sky Innovative Solutions is seeking a senior Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide strategic cybersecurity expertise and technical advisory services in support of an Engineering/PMO Support contract with a federal defense customer. In this role, you will support enterprise security architecture, compliance frameworks, and trusted system relationships while advancing the Government's broader cybersecurity governance initiatives. You will interface regularly with senior DoD cybersecurity leadership and serve as a key technical advisor during significant security events.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support incident response program development and provide analysis of critical security events to Government leadership. Evaluate the effectiveness of security testing methodologies, review tabletop exercise frameworks, and provide analysis supporting joint program collaboration. Provide technical analysis to integrate threat intelligence into enterprise security architecture and governance models; develop draft threat analysis models for Government use. Analyze architectural standards for trusted system relationships and provide technical support for secure implementation in classified environments. Support the development of enterprise cybersecurity strategies for cloud adoption and conduct high-level security reviews of CSP solutions against DoD compliance frameworks. Facilitate coordination between security operations entities and executive leadership/security assessment teams during significant security events. Facilitate strategic relationships with key DoD cyber stakeholders across operational, defensive, and command-and-control leadership communities. Support knowledge transfer initiatives and mentor security architects on enterprise security design principles as directed by the Government.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION
A master's degree in a relevant field plus 9 years of experience in cybersecurity management, policy, and compliance, OR 15 years of total, demonstrated experience in cybersecurity management, policy, and compliance (in lieu of degree).
CLEARANCE
Top Secret (TS) with SCI eligibility and indoctrination required
CORE COMPETENCIES
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms with personnel at all levels, including senior leadership and technical staff. Familiarity with DoD security requirements as applied to cybersecurity management, architecture, and compliance. Experience working in an IT and cybersecurity environment similar in size and scope to this requirement. Strong working knowledge of large, complex, enterprise-scale IT environments. Must hold all required certifications in accordance with DoD 8570/8140 requirements.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
This position requires compliance with DoD Directive 8140 (Cyberspace Workforce Management).
